Type 1 Cans |
This style is economically designed with a single spout from which you fill and pour. It's designed for carrying flammable liquids you'll be pouring into containers with wider openings. When you add our funnel/hose attachment you get accuracy for pouring into more restricted openings.
Our one-pint to one-gallon models feature a fixed handle with a trigger release cap for filling and pouring. Our two- to five-gallon models feature a swinging handle designed for easy handling of 60-pound+ loads. Justrite Type I Steel Jerry Can is the first FM-approved "Jerry" style safety can. It's an incredible space saver for inplant use. It features a heavy 22-gauge steel construction, springclosing cap, double mesh flame arrester and fits standard carriers.
Type I Nonmetallic Safety Cans. High-density polyethylene safety cans offer distinct advantages over terne plate and stainless steel construction. They're inert, so they stand up to tough acids and corrosives, as well as heat. They're dentproof, puncture resistant ... and their color is integral to the can. They're also priced lower than stainless steel. They're even available in space saving configurations like our oval cans to give your shelves up to 30% more storage capacity.
Poly cans are also available with stainless steel hardware for highly corrosive chemicals or high purity liquids. All nonmetallic cans are designed and manufactured with a current-carrying carbon insert imbedded in the rib of the container completing a circuit between the cover assembly and the flame arrester in the spout, preventing the creation of an arc. This provides for proper bonding. All Justrite Type I cans have ULand/or FM-tested closures and pressure relief mechanisms, and free-flow, double-mesh metal flame arresters which prevent ignition sources from entering without restricting liquid flow in or out. |
